Vanessa Paradis claimed love was "fragile" shortly before confirming her split from Johnny Depp.

The stars announced the end of their 14-year relationship in June, following intense speculation they were on the rocks.

French beauty Vanessa was interviewed for the September issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine just two days before the break-up was confirmed. During the chat, she discussed the difficulties of maintaining a long-term romance.

"Love is the strongest and most fragile thing we have in life," she told the publication.

Vanessa and Johnny have two children, 13-year-old Lily-Rose and Jack, ten.

There were claims the pair did everything possible to try and make the relationship work. However, 39-year-old Vanessa doesn't believe in people ignoring their feelings.

"Nothing is ever for sure, but when something in love doesn't work from the beginning, it's never going to work. Don't push it," she added during the interview.

Vanessa and Johnny recently spent time together with their children at their South of France mansion. They are believed to be "getting along well" in the wake of the split.

You should not have said the article was from Harpers Bazaar because it was not.

This belongs on the rumors thread the person writing the story did not interview Vanessa! Do the people on this site not really understand the difference between an interview and someone writing a story based on their interpretation of an interview.

No, you are obviously not understanding my point. I am not debating what Vanessa said. My problem is that the original post was supposedly from Harper's Bazaar and the link was to a story in Belfast Bazaar. It annoys me that people do not know the difference between an interview and a paraphrased interview. I come here to read actual interviews, not paraphrased interviews.

Also, I really do not care why Johnny and Vanessa split up---it is over!!! We (the fans) can't change that. i just want to read interviews not the endless repetitive speculation about why they split up.

I totally understand why a celebrity would not want to talk about their personal life. Just reading this site gives me the answer.

If you think my message was "harsh" than that is your interpretation. It was not meant that way. It does prove my point that the written word can be interpreted any way a person chooses to interpret it. Obviously I am not making my point clear because everyone chooses to focus on what they perceive as the tone of my post instead of what I am actually saying.

Perhaps she was being more open in this interview because it was before the official announcement and so before the media storm really started? She was a lot more guarded in the Marie Claire interview. She looked so happy at Cabourg, from the few things she has said it seems the break-up may have been a release for her in the end.
Does anyone know if this features in this month's Harper's Bazzar issue, or next month's? Or is it just an online feature?
