Hi!
So, I've tried to translate the "blue page" and the first paragraph from the other page.
I think there are a lot of mistakes
, but I hope you'll be in a position to understand my "paltry" translation, 'cause it's very hard to translate French popular expressions...
So good luck ! ;D ;D
For the release of Café de Flore, Vanessa Paradis reminds us that we don't treat love lightly.
There's something of elusive with VP, a very "you won't catch me" side. So, even if Madame Coco Chanel lives on the pop-planet for 20 years and more, she protects very well her secret garden. A friday morning, from her house in LA, the 38-years-old-actress telephones me.
I ask her how she does to stay so discreet, in spite of the curiosity of the people press. After all, she shares her life between France and the USA, two countries interested in riche and famous people's life.
Bad beginnings, our first exchanges are strained.
_ Why do you refer to my love life ? Vanessa is surprised.
You are a serious cinema magazine. You write serious things no ? I don't see at all why you speak about these kind of things. I thought you wanted to speak about cinema.
_ I refered to your silence, that I find admirable, with this press which wants to know all about you. I didn't want to speak about your conjugal life. I did not refer to your spouse...
_ You see ? We talked about that, even without wanting it. That's crazy ! Even so, I'm not interested in these kind of things. I don't pay attention to what people think about me. I don't mind, anyways, I cannot change it. People will always tell anything about me...
_And if we forget this "subject" in order to speak about Café de Flore ? Did you know JM Vallée's work before acting in this film ?
The tone immediately gets milder. " I discovered the script of Café de Flore and JM Vallée at the same time. I immediately fell in love with the wording. I was touched, moved and shaken. What I like from the JM Vallée's world, it's that he avoids every clichés. He does not show us where and when we have to cry. Even if, at the end, we all are going to cry.
After C.R.A.Z.Y and Victoria- "A Queen's young years", JM Vallée invites us to discover Jacqueline ( the Vanessa's character who is a Parisian single-parent mother ) and Antoine ( Kevin Parent who is a DJ who lives in Montréal ). Jacqueline lives in the sixties in Paris, and Antoine in the " nowadays Montréal"
Their meeting is, at the same time, natural and supernatural. Sweet and bitter. Comforting and disturbing. A little like love.
" After the success of The Heartbreaker, I've understood that public wants some love stories. People need these fictions. I need them too. And Café de Flore is such a beautiful story. I immediately knew that I had to participate to this project."
JM Vallée confirms : "We send her the script and she liked it very much. We met each other, and we had a "professionnal first sight"
She talked to me so good about her character, that I didn't ask myself any questions, I knew she was my Jacqueline. She had a strong desire to participate to this project and to act this character. She portraies a touching and loving mother, who loves with an excessive way. It's far from the image of kindness that she has with Chanel of with her rock-star image."
The biggest challenge for Vanessa ? " Doing an exercise of humility, she was revealed without any make-up, without any hairstyle. She didn't wear any make-up in most scenes. We stained her hair with a dull brown color. An actress of her age who agree to do that, it's very generous. Especially for her star like her (calibre
), who has to keep a good image. "
