I just see the movie and i love it! I love the story! I love the cast! I love the music! I love Vanessa! I LOVE EVERYTHING!
I think this is the best role for Vanessa!

I agree with you gavrilova, it's in my opinion, her best movie, regarding to her acting. There are movies of her I love much more, but her acting in Cafe de Flore is absolutely breathtaking! I was waiting to see her each time someone else was on the screen. It's a great movie and a great performance of her.

I have a question, not sure anyone knows the answer. I am wondering if Cafe de Flore will be considered eligible for either the Golden Globes or the Oscars?? I know it had some limited releases in the US during 2011...but not sure if that disqualifies them or not??

Would love to see Vanessa's work honored in the US!!!!

That would be incredibly amazing and shocking as well, I wish because she totally deserves a nomination or the movie, but neither the movie or her or the director are familiar names for US cinema so I guess the chances are 1 in a million .

Americans know Vanessa Paradis, 39, as Johnny Depp’s semi-spouse, from 1998 to this June, and the mother of his two children. In her native France, though, she has been a pop diva from the age of 14 (with her 1987 hit “Joe the Taxi Driver”) and a movie star when she feels like it, in such pre-Depp films as the sexy Élisa and Patrice Leconte’s The Girl on the Bridge. She does her most demanding and mature work in Jean-Marc Vallée’s French-language drama about two seemingly unrelated couples: a mother and child in the Paris of the late ’60s, a divorced couple in today’s Montreal. As Jacqueline, caring for her Laurent (Marin Gerrier), who has Down syndrome, Paradis acutely demonstrates how love can accelerate into an obsession that the beloved is unable to fully, eternally reciprocate.
