Hi !
There is a new interview ( but not new pics ) in the french mag "Têtu".

I've translated the first part of the interview...
How did you decide to make this album with B.Biolay ?
We met several times, and each time, Benjamin told me : " It would be great to work together...". I answered : " I'd love that !". It took some time, and one year ago, I received "a bunch of 8 songs" in mp3. I was at home, in Los Angeles, and suddenly, I was in Paris : it distressed me. All the tracks were absolutely beautiful. In that "bunch", there already were songs like Prends garde à moi or La Chanson des vieux cons, those are rare pearls ! It came at a good time, 'cause I already had several songs from other authors, and songs written by myself, but not enough to make an album.
It was the kind of music that you wanted ?
I didn't know what I wanted ! (Laughs) For years, I really want to produce an album with just 3 musical instruments : guitar, bass, drums. But the problem comes from myself : I adore the arrangements. And Benjamin is incredible for that. He plays all the instruments, it's fabulous. The first week, we already have recorded 11 songs ! I realized he knew my music very well. It made me feel at ease, someone who likes the way you sing so much...
It was not always the case ?
Oh no ! (Laughs).
We want names !
(Burst of laughter) No way ! On the other hand, Franck Langolff, Étienne Roda-Gil, Serge Gainsbourg were marvelous collaborations, with a deep respect. But I was so young at this time, so we didn't have the same relationships. With Benjamin, we have the same age, the same musical tastes, we want the same things in studio. What I liked, he liked too.
There are a lot of "sad songs" in this "Love Songs"...
If we count, there are more "light-hearted" songs ! But sad songs always are more outstanding. They help us to feel better when there are difficult things in life. When we listen to a distressed song, we can say : " Ah ! She feels terrible too...". And it does us good. I speak about myself in the album, but you'll never be able to know when. And neither do I, 'cause it makes a mixing with what I feel in my heart and the others' words. And, after all, I don't care if I cannot remember what I think about when I'm singing, it's just an escape.
Le Rempart, written by Mathieu Boogaerts is a marvelous song to say goodbye...
It is very lovely. Even if, contrary to what he said on TV, he didn't write this song about my split. I've found it was vulgar to say that. And it's a lie, he sent to me his songs in March. It's the first time I don't want the authors write something special. I usually give them some themes, ideas, desires.
Do you have a favorite song on this album ?
I feel a particular tenderness for Station Quatre-Septembre. It seems insignificant, but it has an absolute charm. And when I sing "Même au siècle prochain j'en parlerai ancore, même au siècle prochain j'en pleurerai encore", it obviously talks to me. But I also like Mi amor : I'm very proud of having a track written by Adrien Gallo, the singer of the BB Brunes. This is a powerful and sexy song, something that I can yell to the entire world !
You have a very particular relationship with your gay public. The homosexual people have chosen you very early...
I remember the last time I talked with Têtu mag, the journalist asked me : " How do you feel when you know that you are one of the gay public's icon ? " I didn't know what to answer. I don't like "compartments" (??). They hurt everybody. I understand the question, but I don't want to answer. The difference, it makes all the beauty in this world. Now, I'm very proud of the love that the gay public has for me, yes.
The end of the interview is coming soon !
