I went to one of two screenings today as part of the Glasgow Film Festival (I squeezed it in just before catching a flight) & I am SO glad I did! I absolutely loved this movie, it really impacted me & Vanessa's performance as an obsessive mother is just brilliant, she is perfect in her role, I can't praise her enough. If you can you must go & see it, and its one of those films that is much better when seen in a cinema so I feel really lucky to have got to go to this screening
One question I do have for others who have seen the film... (PLEASE DON'T READ ON IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SEE A SPOILER!!!)
... is, what is the significance of the plane crash at the very end of the movie? That's one bit I didn't really understand!

Emilie-Jolie we understand that those two stories are talking about reincarnation.
Rose is the reincartion of the little girl Vero, Antoine the reincarnation of Laurent, and Carole the reincarnation of Jacqueline. So the plane crash is related to the 'crash car'.
Wa see this plane crash car two times during the movie : at the beginning and at the end.

Thanks Meixang for the info about the showings, I really appreciate it! I understood about the reincarnation aspect, and I understood about the car crash but the plane crash I didn't really grasp, does that mean Laurent dies?

I don't remember a plane crash. I suppose it's more metaphorical.

Yes sorry I meant Antoine! Yes maybe the plane crash is metaphorical, I just thought I'd ask on here in case I had missed something, but the plane crash must be open to interpretation then I guess!

This is great news. The article says the Genie Awards will be presented Mar. 8...I wonder if the awards show is in Quebec and if Vanessa will attend.  Thanks for the link to the article. |

I've found the movie on the internet and watched today. I can't put into words how much it has touched my in so many ways. The scenes in Paris are the most beautiful, Vanessa really did a great job. For me is the best movie of her carreer. The history is so beautiful and poetic, I bristled in many times and cried too. Perfect!

So, I just finished watching the movie.
Such a weird yet beautiful movie. I couldn't stop watching it, the way both of the stories attached to one story was so interesting and beautiful. The scenes in Paris are beautiful aswell.
I think Vanessa was flawless in her parts. She did a great job. It was amazing!
